Throughout history, some of the most respected patriots of liberty felt that patriotism implies thoughtfulness over blind acceptance of the norm. King Prithivi Narayan Shah , Balbhaddra Kunwar , Bhimsen Thapa , Mathbarshingha Thapa , and at the end of the list King Mahindra and King Birendra they all encouraged active efforts to improve their country by their bravery and their love and care for the country and citizens.
There is certainly room for improvement in Nepal. Here is a hope of thoughtfulness over blind acceptance by which we possibly make Nepal a better place to live in.
1. How we spend our money
The 601 representative of parliament is responsible for almost spending half of the Nepal’s annual expenditures, yet it is expected to approve another record increase in the NEPAL history of Parliamentary budget in 2010. The total estimated cost of the military defence is much more than that spent on the Development Sector each year. Congress, Maoist and other small party have more then 10,000 martyr’s and every month that plus in number by 2 that in road accident and Nepal Bandh.
As 30 percent of each Nepalese citizen's tax bill – all -- goes for military support and for the security of 601 members of parliament. Every year there is a BID for HYDRO POWER and at least 5-8 gets the licence but none of them can receive green signal until and unless a huge amount of commission provided to the political authority.
Every time our power structures goes out or our roads, bridges, health and education crumble, but the money needed to fix them is being spent in commission, in defence or in distributing commission to the 600 members of parliament who never give-up leeching the blood of the COUNTRY.
2. What we give to the world
Country had gone through a terrible rebellion war more then 10000 civilians died in what some call war for the reform of NEW NEPAL. Country loosed its royal regime. 75% of people are in the extreme poverty; Kathmandu the capital has been selected on the list of “Ten worst place to live in “. Country itself is among the 20th poorest country in the world with GDP (ppp): $31.5 billion *$GDP Per Capita: $1,205.
World is becoming narrow these days people are getting into more social. Technology has revolutionized the way of leaving. Education and health sector are into more research even country like Bangladesh, Bhutan , Sri lanka are moving towards the new era of globalization. And we have been left behind.
What have we done so far? What is that we could give to the world?
3. The people we ignore
As political leaders fighting for the POST; people in country are living almost 24-hour in Load shedding, Basic need Food and Shelter is becoming unaffordable, while angry youth are roaming the streets with stones in their hand and slogans in their mouth because they can't find jobs and they are corrupted by the political physiology.
Over 3,00,000 Nepalese youth leave the country every year. Two-third of them migrate due to a lack of opportunity in the domestic job market while the remaining go abroad for better opportunities and for security. Around 4,00,000 Nepalese enter the job market every year and country cannot even manage to provide job for ¼ th of the total. Now where can we expect these youth to be? One who can leaves the country one who can’t comes to the street.
Until and unless YOUTH are let free from the Politics the country will never stop losing them.
There is certainly room for improvement in Nepal. Here is a hope of thoughtfulness over blind acceptance by which we possibly make Nepal a better place to live in.
